There are some truly beautiful biscuit, cake and gift tins out there. I think it is a shame that they end up being put in cupboards or thrown away so I make jewellery from them. Some tins are easy to work with and I see designs straight away other need more time to see how they will work, I have been known to get a tin out 3 or 4 times before I am happy to start cutting it up.

Full description
These lightning earrings are made from a recycled gift tin which I have hand cut, filed and shaped. They have also been lacquered to protect from scratches. These have a deep blue background that varies in shade and shiny gold spots in the top third.
The lovely thing about making jewellery from recycled tins is that they are very lightweight and easy to ware, I supply rubber stoppers with the silver hooks.
Usually my tin jewellery is very limited or one off in design, depending on the tin and pattern.
These are approximately 5cm in length including the hook and approximately 2cm in width at widest points.
It is not recommended to wear recycled tin jewellery in water, clean with a soft cloth if needed. All the tins I use have had another life and may show minor signs of previous use.
