I was drawn to this piece for the way it feels steady and held, without needing to assert itself. There’s a quiet presence here — something watchful but gentle — that feels grounding rather than intense. It has a way of staying with you without asking for attention.
The fibre fringe brings warmth and softness to the form, shifting the energy of the carving so it feels more companionable than imposing. It was that balance — between solidity and movement, structure and ease — that made the piece feel right to keep close for a time.
This mask wasn’t chosen to be changed or reinterpreted. It was chosen because it already felt complete. My role was simply to recognise that presence and allow it to move on intact, offered with care to someone who will feel it in their own way.

This is a vintage hand-carved wooden mask with natural fibre fringe, offered as a sculptural wall piece. It has a long, quiet face and a held expression — not closed, not distant, just settled. The carved lines feel patient rather than precise, as though they were made slowly and with care, allowing the form to arrive in its own time.
The fibre fringe shifts the energy of the piece. It softens the structure, brings warmth, and adds a sense of movement without noise.
