This artwork was inspired by the family of goldfinches who nested in a tiny round nest just outside the bedroom window of our little cottage. We watched the parents carefully bring the twigs to build the nest, waited patiently as mum sat brooding, and excitedly followed the growing clutch of five tiny goldfinches as they grew feathers, opened their eyes and took their first tentative steps outside the nest, and finally their maiden flights as mum and dad accompanied each as they took to the wing...

Fine art giclee print of a hand-drawn goldfinch artwork.
This goldfinch illustration began as a hand-drawn study of one of Britain’s most joyful birds, long associated with hope, resilience & small daily blessings. I always think there’s something uplifting about a goldfinch - that flash of warm yellow, the cheerful chatter drifting across hedgerows.
The artwork for this A4 giclee print was drawn by hand using coloured pencils and pens, inspired by the lively flock of goldfinches that visit our Yorkshire cottage. It’s a carefully crafted piece with lasting quality - a print made to bring a little brightness into a quiet corner of your home.
Each print is professionally produced on sustainable Hahnemühle bamboo fine-art paper using archival inks to preserve every delicate line and colour note. It’s packaged carefully by hand in my Yorkshire studio with acid-free, eco-friendly materials.
