I love the subtle tones of green from the Dicky Meadows in this basket. The sides are made using a French Rand weave of single and double willow which creates a pattern on the sides.
This basket will bring some nature into your home and is useful too. It could be uses as a storage basket, shopping or gathering basket.
Each basket is unique with its own natural pattern and shape. Even though the rods are sorted for each style they still weave in their own quirky ways, and some have darker ends or tips creating different colour patterns. Which adds to the fun of not knowing exactly how a basket will turn out.
Good to know...
I use re-usable packaging for postage wherever possible to support the environment.
If your basket is kept in direct sunlight the willow colours will fade over time. Being a natural material the colours soften and become paler.

An oval shaped basket with a handle and Catalan Style base.
Height – 37cm including the handle - approx.
Height – 17cm to the rim
Width – 33cm - approx.
Length – 49cm
The basket is made using Old French and Dicky Meadows willow from Somerset.
The base is made with a pre prepared oval willow frame and base sticks, a Catalan style of weaving.
I used 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft long willow which would have been counted out, soaked for three to six days, and left to mellow overnight before being woven into this decorative and useful basket
