This basket was a joy to make. I love the sloping sides and wooden handle. Each basket is unique taking on it's own look, some willow rods have darker ends or tips and this creates a patten on the sides.

Full description
A handmade willow basket with tapered sides, asymmetrical stepped border and a wooden handle made of ash.
Height including the handle - 20cm
Width of the base - 28cm
The basket is made using Old French and Flanders Red willow from Somerset.
I used mainly 3ft and 4ft long willow which would have been counted out, soaked for three to four days, and left to mellow overnight before being woven into this decorative and useful basket.
