Full description
Aston style Fountain pen has a stunning look by combining the dark coloured Bog Oak with contrasting chrome fittings. You won't find many pens made using this wood which is a shame as the maker is rewarded with amazing looking pens. Finished in very durable melamine satin lacquer, with final wax coating.
Handmade by me in my workshop in Leigh, UK.
Immerse yourself in history with this exquisite, handcrafted pen. This unique writing instrument is turned on a lathe from a rare piece of bog oak, a wood preserved in the anaerobic conditions of a peat bog for approximately 3500 years. To put its age into perspective, this wood was a living tree when:
The earliest stages of Stonehenge were being constructed in England.
The city of Uruk in Mesopotamia, often considered the world's first city, was flourishing.
The Minoan civilisation on Crete was in its formative stages.
This oak tree was a living, breathing organism during the Bronze Age.
Each pen tells a story of an ancient tree, transformed by time and nature into a material with a deep, rich color and a beautiful grain. This is more than just a pen; it's a tangible connection to the past, a piece of art, and a testament to the enduring beauty of the natural world.
A unique and genuinely hand turned wooden ballpoint pen made by the shop owner in my own workshop. A velvet protective pouch is included in the price.
