Hand turned wooden pen made from zebrano wood, gunmetal fittings, slimline twist action pen with black ink. Zebrano is characterised by a striking decorative colour pattern, which gives this imported precious wood a special status. Resembling a zebra's stripes, which makes for visually appealing pens. While it can be challenging to work with due to its interlocked grain, with proper tools and techniques, Zebrano can be turned into beautiful and durable pens.
Zebrano, also known as Zebrawood, is known for its striking appearance with light yellowish-brown heartwood characterised by dark brown stripes reminiscent of zebra stripes. The broad sapwood is straw colored. With a coarse texture and a slightly to strongly alternating grain pattern. It is a hard, dense and heavy wood with high strength properties and very high stiffness.resembling a zebra's stripes, which makes for visually appealing pens. While it can be challenging to work with due to its interlocked grain, with proper tools and techniques, Zebrano can be turned into beautiful and durable pens.
