The story starts with a walk in bluebell woods in late Spring - the deep lilac-blues of the flood of flowers contrasting with the light greens of new growth all around. I tried to match this vision by creating my own yarn, mixing and extending this pleasing combination. The warp was chosen to pick out the darker blue-purple colours hiding in the shadows between areas of bright dappled sunshine poking through the leaves.

Full description

A handwoven scarf mixes deep blue/purple colours, slightly shiny lilacs and a range of light greens in combinations that shift and change along its length. The handpun yarn used for the weft was created using mostly merino wool, along with brighter touches of bamboo to add a little shine. It is woven in plain weave on a warp of silky tencel in a deep purple/blue iris colour, to form a lovely warm but lightweight scarf. There are two available, slightly different from each other in the way the colours mix and merge. They are each 21cm wide and 144cm or 146cm long (excluding the tassels). Wash at 30 degrees, line dry and press with a cool iron.
