This design emerged from playing around with a well-known, regular houndstooth pattern. I always want to know what'll happen if I stop following an established pattern and start changing the rhythm, the colour, the material - and sometimes the results are an immediate 'aha! I love that!'. This was one of those.

Full description
This sophisticated scarf is woven in softest lambswool and a deflected weave structure that maximises softness and squidge.
The design reminds me of mid-century textiles, with a nearly-monochrome background and a single colour creating a play between stripes and blocks. The dark stripe is actually a mix of charcoal grey and darkest bitter chocolate brown, and the light stripe is a subtle grey-ish oatmeal, while the light orange pop is cheerful but not too bright, making this a surprisingly versatile and easy-to-wear piece.
Dimensions: 25cm wide x 119cm long.
I call these 'tidy scarves' because they're the perfect length for wrapping twice around the neck so you can tuck the ends neatly into your collar, or knot or pin them together and avoid them flapping around or creating bulk under your outfit.
They are gender neutral and make the ideal gift for the people in your life who appreciate the quality and uniqueness of handmade without wanting to sacrifice style.
Each piece is unique and is woven by me at home in north Wales on my Louet floor loom.
The lambswool is surplus stock from British mills where it is normally used to produce high-end designer knitwear.
Wash infrequently, with care, and it will last you a lifetime.
