I’m Kate and I weave wearable one-offs in gorgeous natural fibres, at home in the mountains of north Wales.

As a lifelong knitter, yarnaholic and textile-lover – and with a strong line of weavers in my heritage – I was bound to find myself sitting at a loom at some point. Now that I have, I know it’s where I most want to be. To me, weaving offers the perfect balance of fiddly faff and flow states, careful calculations and creativity, and I’m so glad to be sharing the best of my outputs with you here in my Folksy shop.
I work almost* exclusively in natural materials, primarily wool with some linen, silk, alpaca and cotton thrown in for good measure. *Almost, because the materials I use are generally sourced from other people’s waste – deadstock from mills, or other makers’ de-stashes – and sometimes this throws up surprise synthetics and mystery yarns that I have to learn about as I go, as well as colour palettes I’d never have selected of my own accord. It’s a challenging way to work, but immensely stimulating and always rewarding.
Everything offered in my shop is a one-off and is hand woven by me on one of my floor looms (an 8-shaft Louet David and a Saori WX60), at home in the mountains of Eryri (a.k.a. Snowdonia).
