I love fabrics which look simple from afar but get more fascinating the closer you are to them: a tiny stripe, a spot of texture, a fleck of more intense colour… and this series of scarves emerged from that love. Subtle, delicious yarns and a little bit of rhythm – meditative both to weave and to wear.

Full description
This sumptuous scarf is woven in two shades of lambswool which peek out separately from a blended background in the textured squares that form a grid across the whole scarf.
The warp is a soft duck-egg blue while the weft is an almost-lavender grey and tiny dotted stripes of natural white highlight the selvedges.
Dimensions: 29cm wide x 166cm long.
I call these ‘lush’ scarves because they are generously wide and long, giving you plenty of scope for wrapping, draping, squishing up or knotting it however you fancy.
The design is quiet and refined and the lambswool is soft on the skin, so anyone can wear this scarf and feel great in it.
Every piece I make is unique and is woven at home in north Wales on my Louet floor loom.
This lambswool comes as surplus from British mills where it is normally used to produce high-end designer knitwear.
Wash infrequently, with care, and it will last you a lifetime.
