My inspiration came from a walk along the river Teign where I picked up the pine cone, then developed the idea further on my return to the workshop. Where I thought we should make something renewable and can be used over the future years, with our families and loved ones.

Full description
This Christmas decoration was made from a large pine cone collected from the banks of the river Teign, then mounted on a hardwood base. The pine cone was coated with green coloured epoxy resin with gold and silver glitter highlights. We then draped a set of battery powered coloured LED lights around the cone to give a festive feel to the decoration which will light up your room even when the lights are out.
The base is made from a piece of English hardwood possibly cherry, supplied by a local tree surgeon a hole for the lights was drilled with a forstner bit to take the light pack. Then clear coated with epoxy resin after being pyrographed with the message ‘seasonal greeting’.
The LED lights have a LR44 battery power pack, which could be removed from the base and batteries replaced.
This item will be delivered to you marked using pyrography technics and paperwork to show its originality XT01.
