My inspiration for this shaving stand was to make a shaving stand in UK grown timber from Devon and to hold a razor in, but be different than the majority of metal and plastic stand that are available online. This is a one piece hand-carved stand in White Topped Box (Eucalyptus) a timber species I have never worked with, but it seems to work well with a couple of gouges and my favourite paring chisel. The stand is shape to use the natural shape of the wood that was grown local to us in south Devon, with the live edge grooved to hold your brush to dry before storing it below. in White Topped Box (Eucalyptus), with Green resin infills. Full description
This hand-carved stand in White Topped Box (Eucalyptus) shaving brush and razor stand, it will take one razor. It is illustrated with a Wilkinson double edge razor and should take most modern wet shaving razors depending on their handle diameter. The top is carved to at either the razor or shaving brush, in particular the matching brush SB-07.
Dimensions (approximate): Length: 8.0cm, Width: 10.5cm, Height: 8.0cm.
The shaping came as I worked with it and it gives a nice tactile feel to the curves based on the grain of the stand upright once the resin epoxy resin was applied and coloured green.
