INTERNATIONAL POST - I'm in the process of updating postage for the US and have temporarily removed it from my listings whilst I recalculate the prices to include the new taxes and handling fees which have to be paid prior to my items entering the US. Full description
A Beautiful large hand embroidered pin cushion, a unique keepsake gift for someone who loves to sew or craft or just an ornamental piece for someone who loves hand embroidery.
This is a large 4" diameter pincushion.
Handmade from natural silk noil fabric with a cotton fabric backing and sitting in a 4" wooden bowl, this pin cushion is made up from 3 pieces of fabric to give it strength and longevity even when using large needlfelting or similar needles in it.
Using my own design worked freehand I have created a little floral scene, hand stitched in a soft colour palette of pinks, lemons, oranges, peaches and green.
Once I had embroidered my design I made a cotton fabric form, shaped to a round, it's stuffed extremely tight so the pins won't disappear into the stuffing and takes a few hours to assemble the pincushion to ensure there is as little creasing as possible. The embroidered top is fitted over the form, pulling the fabric taught and stitching it over and over until it is the correct size for the bowl and removing any creasing from from gathered fabric. Once it is shaped to fit it is glued into place in the wooden bowl.
Finished with crochet cotton natural lace trim around the rim and a rolled satin ribbon in cream.
My pincushions are made to last, they make beautiful keepsake gifts for someone who likes to sew or craft, I have made many over the years all with excellent reviews.
It will be carefully wrapped and posted by Royal Mail Tracked 48 parcel post.
