I have been working on a more complicated series of reduction linocuts of the remaining bottle ovens and kilns of Stoke-on-Trent, which involve three or four colours in multiple layers. A while ago I decided to make a simpler, single layer collection for a change, and so far there are five different potteries represented. Heron Cross is a district near the town of Fenton (Stoke-on-Trent comprises six adjoining towns which have grown together over the centuries), and this particular historic building has been restored and is being used as a photographic studio, amongst other things. It is great to see these structures being re-purposed or integrated into new developments as focal points!

This is a single stage linocut print designed, hand-carved and hand-printed by me, of the historic bottle oven at the Heron Cross pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. The image is roughly A5 and the paper is just smaller than A4. It is printed by hand on Japanese Ho-Sho paper using Cranfield Caligo Safewash relief inks.
Designed by Mary Parker in Stoke-on-Trent
