Peridot is the birthstone for August and Leo.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant apple green hue and a beautiful sparkle.
The Peridot teardrops have good clarity with some natural imperfections.
Obsidian is a volcanic glass that forms when molten rock cools rapidly.
It is mostly black, but can be found in brown, tan or green and - rarely - in red, orange, yellow or blue.
Sometimes two colours can swirl together, most commonly with brown and black, which is known as Mahogany Obsidian, because the colour is reminiscent of rich, polished mahogany wood.
Mahogany Obsidian is a grounding stone with a deep connection to the Earth. It is thought to enhance creative energy and sexuality.
Smoky Quartz varies in shade from a light mink to a darker, earthy, grey brown.
It is thought to eliminate negative energy and promote the positive
Smoky quartz is the national gem of Scotland, traditionally used in the handle of the sgian dubh, the sock dagger worn with the kilt.

Earth tones of apple green and warm browns with a variety of shapes that make this a very tactile necklace, designed to sit above the neckline at almost choker length.
A centrepiece of seven 6mm Mahogany Obsidian beads flanked by a 6mm Peridot teardrop, row of seven 4x2mm Smoky Quartz discs, a trio of 3.25mm faceted Peridot beads and a trio of 6mm Mahogany Obsidian.
More Peridot and Smoky Quartz before graduating to 4mm Mahogany Obsidian and fastening with a rose Tibetan toggle clasp that is nickel and lead free.
The Mahogany Obsidian is a rich red-brown mottled with dark brown-black, while the semi-translucent Smoky Quartz 4x3mm discs have the dark, 'smoky' brown colour that gives the stone its name.
The translucent Peridot beads have a lovely apple green hue, and are highlighted with tiny 1.8mm gold vermeil spacers that bring a warm gleam.
The faceted beads add a lovely sparkly.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a gorgeous gift for a birthday, anniversary, best friend - or as a treat for yourself.
