I love to use Tencel in my weaving, as it feels so soft and comes in a glorious range of colours. Here I was inspired to mix purple-blues and greens together in this fascinating pattern. When weaving on the loom the stripes are straight - it's only when the piece is off the loom and has been washed do they settle into the oval bubbles of colour you see here.

Full description

This light-weight summer scarf is hand-woven in a range of seven colours, graded from a deep amethyst, through blue-purples to greens. These form a series of oval shapes following a striped pattern along the scarf known as 'Ms and Os'. It is woven using the sustainable yarn Tencel, which feels similar to silk, and is ideal for wearing next to the skin - the scarf will get even softer the more you wear it. It is 170cm long (excluding the tassels) and 25cm wide, an ideal size for wearing as a shawl around the neck. Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
