When I saw this pretty Cath Kidston tin being sold at the car boot I knew I wanted to curate a little collection inside. I want to inspire people to sew, the way back in the day I was inspired by my Mums button tin. So now, if I see the right tin or box at the car boot, I buy it to fill with these things.

Get inspired with this slow stitching kit of vintage haberdashery, lace, buttons and charm patchwork squares. An upcycled little collection of old and faded sewing items which fit snuggly inside a small, pretty, floral tin which I found second hand. I wanted to recreate the feeling of looking inside your Mum's button box when you were a child. So, inside this little vintage style tin is bits of ribbon, braid and lace. Also, cotton fat quarters, patchwork and a scattering of sequins. Perfect as a present for someone learning to sew, or for trying out recycling ideas. These little embellishments will make your work that bit special, and add a sprinkling of history to whatever you decide to create.
Inside your little second hand tin you will find;
2 x fat quarters (fabric squares approx 50 cm by 50 cm)
10 cotton charm patchwork squares
2 packs of sequins and a few sew on jewels
1 crochet doilie and a vintage hanky
Lengths of polyester satin ribbon, ric-rac braid, silk bias binding, embroidered braid and salvedged cotton lace
2 sets of buttons and 2 Liberty covered buttons
Vintage packaged old needles and tiny snap fasteners
This packs into a sweet second hand tin measuring 12 cm diameter and 9 cm tall
Please keep away from small children as this kit includes needles and some very small parts.
I like to recycle. Your tin will be posted out wrapped in clean, recycled packaging, and sent by Royal Mail 2nd class.
