Full description
Shark attack - a perfect bookmark for those exciting adventure stories. Ideal for kids and adults, even hard to buy for teenagers. Practical and beautiful, my handmade bookmarks are very tactile - made from quality quilting cottons and pure wool felt.
My zero-waste, sustainable approach to crafting means I try to use every piece of fabric left from cutting out my large makes.
I carefully cut fabric strips from my scraps, and securely machined them to a felt backing with a tiny blanket stitch to catch in the raw edges. Using a co-ordinated threads add extra detail and texture to both sides of the bookmark.
These bookmarks use a stunning shark themed quilting cotton print from Lewis and Irene in aqua and blue tones, and I chose a dark navy felt background to add a litttle moody menace feel.
PLEASE NOTE: As I am trying to reduce wastage, your bookmark will feature different sharks from the fabric shown in the last photo. If you have a favourite, add a message on checkout and I'll see if I have that in my scraps.
