Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

Twice a year, I enjoy these stunning blooms in my kitchen, with this print ensuring that we can all enjoy this vibrant burst of colour all year ‘round!

Full description
This little print was inspired by my grandma’s Christmas Cactus and particularly by the contrast of its stunning pink flowers against the lime green of my kitchen wall.
The print was made in two steps, with both flower and leaves carved from a traditional hessian backed lino. The flower was printed in a rich pink oil-based ink and the leaves printed separately using a dark green ink pad.
The paper, a beautiful handmade Nepalese lime coloured Lokta, measures approx. 10.5cm x 17cm.
Each of this small edition of 8 prints is numbered and signed and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand-crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you in a cello with a back board, ready to present as is or to frame with the mount and surround of your choosing.
Fairly small in both size and price, these prints make a lovely easy to post gift and what lovelier thing to arrive in the post than a joyful little burst of colour?
This print is also available printed onto an off-white Khadi paper.
