My background is in Graphic Design and although I'm now retired I still enjoy the creative process. A lot of my work features birds and flowers and I particularly love combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces.

Full description
This quirky textile artwork featuring a sleeping grey tabby would make a lovely, colourful gift for a cat lover.
I've used a strip of floral embroidered trim for the base and given it a wash of acrylic paint to create a vintage feel. The background is made from a piece of batik fabric. My cat illustration has been printed onto cotton and embellished with paints and embroidery threads. I've added flowers and leaves to his back and head, echoing the colours and shapes of the flowers in the trim. I've added a few gold seed beads and sequins to give a bit of sparkle.
I've made a matching tag in case you're sending it as a gift.
The artwork comes in a white mount measuring approx 20x25cm outer with a 12x17cm aperture. It is titled and signed on reverse.
