Hi, I'm The Old Button - welcome to my shop and I hope you find lovely things that you would like to buy.
I post every day, using Royal Mail First Class for cards, and Track 24 for all other items, and I can post directly to the recipient - see my Upgrades listings. Dispatch times are currently 1-3 days for most of my makes, with a few taking longer as indicated in the item details.
In the busy run up to Christmas, I'm no longer taking commissions for my embroidered play scenes and my patchwork quilts, but I have gift voucher options. The last day for ordering my custom hand embroidered Christmas stockings and Child's Drawing Pictures is Monday 9th December. For all other items I will be open right up until Christmas week.
I first made stockings for my own children when I discovered how much fun it was to try and create a Christmas motif as a felt applique. As well as my range of lined Christmas stockings in fantastic prints, I try to make a few luxurious quilted ones each year - each one is unique with its own hand embroidered applique.
I use soft bamboo wadding which is more eco-friendly than cotton, and the button is from my recycled button collection.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

One of my large Christmas stockings, this one has a cute appliqued penguin - complete with a warm scarf around his neck. This stocking is one of a kind - I only ever make a few appliqued ones each year and each is unique. It's a very generous size meaning there is lots of room for a fabulous selection of toys and goodies from Santa.
Personalisation - I can add personalise this stocking for you, with a hand embroidered name on a removable felt label. Please add name in the option box if this option is chosen.
Size: - 22 inches tall by 16 inches wide at toe to heel. 9 inches wide at top opening.
Made from top quality cotton quilting fabrics with a hand-cut and hand embroidered felt penguin on the front with lots of ric rac and pom pom trim, this stocking has a soft eco-friendly bamboo wadding to give it more body.
The back of the stocking has the same cute print fabric as the heel and toe patches. It is fully lined in aqua cotton and it has a herringbone tape loop so it can be hung up for display before filling with gifts.
Care: Sponge clean or gentle handwashing and natural drying recommended. Medium iron - cover ric-rac, ribbon, felt and embroidery before ironing (a sheet is perfect).
