This little sleepy nestled Hare just evolved out of the clay one day, I had no clue what was going to turn up as I work intuitively with how the clay shapes itself in my small sculptures. She is a darling little piece that comfortably fits in the palm of your hand yet she has her own Catalpa leaf (Indian Bean Tree) to sleep on. Together the two compliment each other and in some Native American traditions the Catalpa tree is seen as a symbol of strength, protection & resilience. The Hare is steeped in folklore with sacred and mystic associations often linked to the moon and magical rituals. The Hare and the Catalpa leaf were an intuitive pairing which I hope brings joy to the owner of this one off original piece
