This bowl was turned from a pice of wood in a sack of offcuts that was being sold for firewood. I could see as soon as I examined the block of wood it had an interesting grain pattern and it would have been a shame if it had ended up in someone's log burner.

Full description
This small bowl has been hand turned from a single piece of oak wood. It measures 124mm in outside diameter and stands 78mm high. It wash brought to a smooth finish by sanding and it was polished with pure beeswax to bring out a subtle shine and to demonstrate the beautiful grain pattern in this piece of wood. It would be suitable for storing coins, jewellery and other trinkets or could be used for potpourri.
