Making nice things from reclaimed and discarded wood

In 2022 I retired from a long career in the NHS and rediscovered my love of making things from wood. My great grandfather was a carpenter from a family of carpenters who moved from rural Somerset to Birmingham in the mid 19th Century in search of the opportunities provided by the Industrial Revolution. I am pleased to say that I have a number of his woodworking tools, some of which I continue to use today.

I make my items in my workshop at home. The principle of making things from wood that has been discarded or that I have reclaimed or 'found' appeals to me, especially if locally sourced. I also try to use recycled or reused packaging materials for shipping my items.

Buying from me

In 2022 I retired from my career in the NHS and rediscovered my love of making things from wood. Now I like to make turned wooden items such as small bowls, dishes and lidded boxes in my home workshop. I prefer to be able to make my pieces where possible using reclaimed or discarded wood so for this reason each is unique and a one-off!

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
