Full description

These sterling silver hoop earrings feature drops of retro boatite which can be removed from the hoops and reversed to show the different colour palette on each side. One side of the boatite is speckled green and tan on an off white ground. The other side is less subtle being predominately green and blue with patches of tan and cream, both sides are very retro feeling. The hoops are 15mm diameter whilst the drops are approx 25mm by 15mm, boatite is lightweight so these would be comfy to wear all day.

Boatite is the name given to the cured build up of paint that forms in boat yards (I like to think of it as fordite's maritime cousin). Normally this build up would be thrown away but occasionally lumps of it would be kept as a curio and people are now realising the beauty of this waste material and turning it into jewellery. This particular material was sold to me as coming from the Larson boat yard in the 60's. I cut and polish this material myself so if you would prefer something else then drop me a message.

Comes gift boxed.
