I love walking on the beach with my husband Martin and our elderly Jack Russel, Gilbert. We visit all year round and there is beauty in every visit rain or shine, fog or even snow. I take lots (and LOTS) of pictures and they, along with my memories provide my inspiration for my work.
I can just imagine kicking off my flip flops, dipping my toes in the warm water and then relaxing in the sunshine and maybe picking up a few shells.

Full description
Handmade, unique and ethically produced fabric picture showing a bright representation of an imaginary Cornish beach with turquoise, sparkling sea, a bright blue sky with a yellow glittering sun high in the sky and golden sand with sand and flip flops scattered on the sand. I love the dark blue lace helping to indicate the waves coming into the shore and the seagulls lazing on the light breeze.
This is an unglazed picture in a wide, pale wooden frame using a mixture of textiles and different sewing techniques. I hand sew and use a machine and a variety of different threads and beads to create my images which are inspired by Cornwall where I live.
I recycle frames and fabrics and endeavour to work in a sustainable manner to prevent materials going to landfill.
