When autumn comes, the lure of a nice hot coffee (and possibly a chocolate brownie…) draws me inside for the warmth and companionship of meeting friends. We all like our coffees (and cakes) in a range of varieties, and the colours of this scarf bring all those sentiments together.

Full description

This elegant hand-woven plain-weave scarf has autumn’s deep browns at its heart. I have hand-spun a mix of 40% Merino wool, 40% alpaca and 20% silk into a luscious mix of autumnal golds and browns. This was then woven in a plain weave on a warp of golden and deep rust red tencel (tencel is a sustainable yarn with a feel similar to that of silk). The resulting scarf is light, but warm and soft in a gentle drape. At 145cm long (excluding tassels) and 24cm wide, this scarf is suitable for wrapping round neck and shoulders in cold weather Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
