We've had such a gloomy grey autumn this year, and I've been missing the bright colours of spring and summer - in particular the deep blues of a cloudless fenland sky. Where this azure meets the bright green of the fields the colour combination really lifts the spirits.

Full description

This bright scarf brings the deep azure blues of a summer sky together with a contrasting sharp yellow-green. The scarf is hand-woven; I wove a weft of hand-spun yarn from merino wool onto a tencel warp of azure blue and lemongrass green (Tencel is a sustainable yarn that feels similar to silk). The overall effect is a gentle mottling of the blues and yellows that changes along the length of the scarf. Most of the width of the scarf is predominantly blue, but a thick border along one side picks out the vivid lemon-green. The scarf is 152cm long (excluding tassels) and 30cm wide, an ideal size for wearing around the neck. Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
