I love working with wool, so I am fascinated by all things sheep-related. The child in me desires a soft toy sheep on wheels, while the grown-up me would love to have my flock of sheep. Clive and other flock members allow me to have it all and the pure pleasure of creating them and seeing their personalities emerge.

Full description
Art doll Clive the Sheep on Wheels is a unique one-off piece of art. Hand-felted with Jacob sheep’s wool (inside and out) on a solid wood platform and wooden wheels. It is a wonderful and lasting gift for sheep lovers of all ages. The Clive will make a great gift for a sheep lover who has it all except Clive the sheep on wheels. This art doll comes with its certificate of authenticity. Clive is approximately 20cm tall, 30cm long and 15cm wide with a plated cotton/satin string attached to a real hag stone.
Hag stone is a small rock with naturally formed one or more holes. The theory goes that only good things can pass through a hole, so while good fortune and good wishes will find you through a hag stone, bad luck and evil thoughts are too big to be able to pass through the hole and become stuck in the middle. This belief may be bolstered by the centuries-old belief that magic cannot work on moving water. So, since the hole in a hag stone was created by moving water, it works as a sort of ‘shield’ against spells and the like. Clive proudly wears a real grazing bell attached to a cotton string. Clive can be separated of its wheels and used for cuddles.
Clive’s wool is from local farmer Jacob's sheep, which are happily grazing in Staffordshire fields. The wool was hand-felted with rainwater and olive oil soap.
Disclaimer: Clive is a handmade art doll; it can be given to children at the parents' or guardians' discretion.
