Unique Hand Woven Dorset Button and Genuine Murano Glass Bead
Drop Earrings
I made these earrings by making two Dorset buttons with variegated summery yellow, orange and pink cotton thread, and hollow brass rings. I added genuine pink Murano glass and foil beads (I bought them in Murano on a trip to Venice). I have added nickel-free, silver plated ear wires.

The buttons measure 2.6cm in diameter
Total drop of the earrings is 6.2cm
Dorset buttons were a cottage industry in the Dorset area of England in the late 1600's and 1700's until the introduction of a button making machine. This craft is enjoying a revival and I just love making them using modern materials and contemporary designs.
I have similar earrings in different sizes and colours.
