Unique Hand Woven Dorset Button Drop or Dangle Earrings
I made these earrings by making two Dorset buttons with variegated pastel rainbow cotton thread, solid pink cotton thread and hollow brass rings. As the rings are hollow, they are light in weight and comfortable to wear. I have added nickel-free, silver plated ear wires.
These would make a great Mothers' Day gift or birthday gift for a friend or family member.
The buttons measure 2.6cm in diameter
Total drop of the earrings is 4.6cm
Dorset buttons were a cottage industry in the Dorset area of England in the late 1600's and 1700's until the introduction of a button making machine. This craft is enjoying a revival and I just love making them using modern materials and contemporary designs.
I have similar earrings in different sizes and colours.
