CIRCULAR CROCHET CROSSBODY BAG OR PURSE
I crocheted this cute crossbody purse from a multitude of pure wool yarns which I had handspun. I used a variety of crochet stitches to give interest and texture. Colours include shades of pink, purple, blue and grey. I added a corded strap which is long enough to wear 'crossbody' or over the shoulder. For closure I made a loop and a Dorset button in shades of pink and purple cotton thread worked over a brass ring. Dorset buttons were made in England before the mass production of buttons. Please see all the photos.
Please note that this bag is made with very dense crochet stitches but not lined so caution should be used when carrying very small items. It would be ideal for carrying a few essentials like a coin purse, tissues, make up, keys, etc.
The bag measures 7.5" (19cm) tall by 8.5" (21.6cm) wide and the strap measures 52" (132cm) long. If you find the strap a little long, just tie a slip knot in it. Crossbody bags are so practical when walking, shopping, riding, cycling etc as your hands are free.
