"Hurrah" chimed the hedgehogs Let's jump in our old jalopy and be on our way.
Inspired by this childs boot one of a pair it was the most damaged with the sole coming apart. I coudn't resist thinking of something spilling out of the gap. So the story of the two little moles making their way to visit relatives with gifts a plenty took shape. Sat peeping over the top with their little scarves blowing in the wind. Possibly singing carols all the way their little boot cart glistening with a peppering of magical frost.
This original little piece is handmade in mix media. The two little moles are hand and machine stitiched in unbleach cotton with mohair fur. They are sitting in their little boot cart which is one of a pair of childrens edwardian boots, mounted on an old book spine with wooden cotton reels for wheels. Their old jalopy is packed with presents toy and a little Christmas book. As well as a toadstool adorned with a red satin ribbon. All on top of straw and dries moss so they will be toasty warm on their journey.
This piece soft sculpture will be lovingly wrapped and packed. A perfect gift for those who love fairytales trxtile art and something a little different. Or an heirloom to keep for Christmas or anytime.
This lovely piece measures: 18cm x 15cm approx
n.b. This is unsuitalbe for small children.
