I have always loved textiles I seem to see everything as a tactile thing.
I studied millinery at Chelsea college London and made and sold hats for a while learning how to create patterns and turn them into original creations, from there i experimented with felt making and creating jewellery taking small courses in both of them.
Creative things were put on hold for a short while (life things can get in the way) but creativity cannot be stifled for long it always has a way of bursting out. So i picked up again using fabrics, buttons, all sorts of flotsum amd jetsum purchased from vintage flea markets and using the skills I had tucked under my belt I started to make again, from there friends and family encouraged me to open an online shop which is exactly what I did.
Again life threw a curve ball in the way of breast cancer (caught early and treated very quickly) which threw my momentum but only for a short while, this gave me a new lease of looking at life from a different perspective. I have always loved nature but with renewed vigour I started creating again with nature mostly taking over my work, but i am still up for experimenting so you will notice me going off on a tangent (because i can) and thats half the fun of creating, you can do what you wish.
I live in London but am lucky enough to have many open spaces, woodland areas to get my insperation from, just the smell of the earthy leaves and the fresh air and believe it or not the wildlife, foxes, woodpeckers, squirrels and even an escaped african bird that make the most marvelous noise like an old croaky dog ( I have actually caught it on video).
So I will keep on creating and hope that my pieces will be enjoyed as much as enjoy making them.
