This was made in two pieces, thrown on my potters wheel. Both pieces measured so that they would accurately fit together then dried slightly and joined by scoring and applying slip.
Dried to leather hard and then trimmed.
Then dried to bone dry over 10 days then bisque fired. This is a nervy part of the process as any air pockets trapped in the clay body at the joint would likely explode or cause cracking. Happily all was well.
The glazes are then applied and the piece was fired again to 1220C. Another nervy time as pots can be often ruined during this part of the process.

Full description
Tall pottery red vase. Hand made and thrown on my potters wheel. Glazed in deep red with layered muti-colour at the top. The vase rim is glazed in dark brown glaze.
Price includes postage and packaging.
