This is my second mosaic that features Sisyrinchium flowers, but this piece is much bolder. I love the contrast between the rich, brick red background and the shades of gold. It also has hand tinted grout to complement the red tile, giving it a more subtle crazing effect.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic and features tall spires of yellow Sisyrinchium flowers in a brick red background. I blended a terracotta grout to complement the background tiles, to give a strong contrast to the yellow tones of the petals.
I use beautiful Winckelmans tiles which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.
Measures 22 cm x 16 cm x 2.5cm
Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind but I am able to make more in a similar colour palette on request. I am also open to commission, just contact me for a chat.
