I love the traditional North East Folk Song 'Dance to your Daddy' and I wanted to create some artwork that celebrated the herring industry as having been historically a very important industry across the whole region.

A set of x4 Square Note Cards decorated with a herring design and folk song lyrics.
Inspired by the traditional North East Folk Song 'Dance to your Daddy', these herring illustrations were hand-drawn in pen-and-ink with two lines from the song hand-written in a modern calligraphy style, before being printed onto these lovely quality cards. The text reads: 'Thou shalt have a fishy... when the boat comes in'
These note cards are blank inside, ready for your personal message. They’re sustainably printed on recycled cardstock and come with a kraft envelope, making them a green choice. Each card is 15cm x 15cm.

Part of my 'Fishy Dishy' collection, which includes an A4 art print, a 100% organic cotton tea towel, a square note card and a fridge magnet in addition to these wooden coasters.
