Full description
Moonlit Meadows is a piece of mounted textile art featuring a countryside scene under a moonlit sky. The sky is made of rustic woven fabric in dark blue, with flecks of white, which resemble stars. The meadows are made from different layered fabrics in shades of turquoise, duck-egg blue and aqua green. I’ve frayed the edge of one of the layers to resemble grass. The moon is a white button, on a circle of white fabric, outlined with circles of white hand embroidered stitching. I’ve added some fine white netting as clouds. There are two terracotta tweed trees with free motion embroidered detailing, along with tiny hand embroidered sheep. To the foreground I’ve added free motion embroidered stems in golden-beige and duck-egg blue, and hand embroidered French knot flowers in shades of yellow. The piece is mounted on a square acid-free backing board and finished with a white aperture mount, and is ready to be framed. The artwork is presented in a cellophane sleeve for protection.
This piece of original textile art would make a lovely and unique gift for someone who loves the British countryside.
