I have always loved working with gold leaf since I was taught many years ago by my calligraphy teacher. I love the way it adds depth and highlights to a piece.
I am inspired by the old illuminated manuscripts and am delighted I have found a way to incorporate this ancient art into my modern vector artworks.

Full description
Kingfisher perched on a branch with a glistening Strawberry Full Moon - detailed with genuine Rose Gold leaf.
Hand embellished art print created from my original vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator. Printed using giclee quality inks on to smooth cartridge paper.
Rose gold leaf is applied by hand using acrylic gold size with a paint brush. Once the size is air dry and tacky the gold leaf is carefully laid over the area. It is burnished down in place using an agate burnisher. This fixes the gold leaf in place and polishes it to a high shine.
The excess gold leaf is brushed away to reveal the final image.
Each mini print is hand initialed and comes in ivory deep frame with 2mm acrylic glass.
The mount is given lots of protection under the backing board using acid free hinging tape to help prevent insects and tarnishing of the gold leaf.
Please note that this print cannot be sold unframed due to the delicate nature of the gold leaf.
Part of an open edition of special hand embellished prints - only three of these are in the first run, but more may be created in the future.

Supplied with D Ring fixings and hanging cord.
