My inspiration for this picture came from the fragment of sea pottery I found while walking along a local beach. I thought that the pottery would make an ideal vase and toyed with the idea of making sea glass flowers but decided I needed more vibrant colours to offset the natural grey and white of the sea pottery. Sewing is another one of my passions and I looked through my button collection and found some bright red buttons which I felt would make perfect flowers for the vase.
