Purple loosestrife is a native plant that grows in damp ground and around shallow water. Bees love it too. In old folklore loosestrife was believed to be calming and was used by farmers to keep their oxen calm.

A unique and one of a kind 100% wool felt brooch with an embroidered meadow of purple loosestrife with five bees buzzing around the wildflowers.
The loosestrife wildflowers have been embroidered in purple bullion stitches and French knots with rich, dark green stems. The five tiny bees buzz around and on the flowers.
The embroidery has been mounted onto thick and sturdy wool felt in my signature stitch method making the brooch strong so it will keep its shape. No floppy brooches here. A standard metal lever style brooch back has been securely attached.
Brooches are great for adding a little bit of colours and style to any outfit. Pin to a hat, a bag, lapel or anywhere you fancy.
