I really appreciate the meditative value of time spent in the garden - this apron came about because I needed special size/shape pockets which only an apron could provide - a pocket for secateurs (because I'm always misplacing them), phone pocket (because my kids insist I'm contactable at all times!), big pocket and pouch for harvesting veg, carrying cuttings or weeds. It's based on the No14:3 apron with it's strong secure waistband to take the weight of stuff carried in the pockets.
Working in my studio in hilly-leafy South-East London, I make aprons in small batches using cotton canvas, denim or drill - fabrics that are natural, washable and durable. Careful attention to detail, strength of construction and beautiful stitching result in a quality of finish simply not possible in mass production. I cut fabric economically, minimising waste and saving the small remnants to make one-of-a-kind bags for my ‘Boro Collection’.

A garden apron with practical features for happy hours spent weeding, potting, planting, pruning and harvesting. The special pockets for your secateurs and phone hang from the waistband so they don't dig into you and are always handy (not lost in the shrubbery). The large pouched pocket at the front is the place for small tools, gardening gloves, seed packets, harvested herbs & veg. Finally the drawstring hem cleverly pulls up to form a big vegetable/fruit gathering pouch, you can insert the waist ties through the drawstring loops for hands-free harvesting. Meticulously designed, skillfully sewn, made-to-last it makes a really thoughtful gift for keen gardeners.
