In Japan, a crane is poetically said to live 1000 years – hence, it represents a long life and peace. In addition, a pair of coupled cranes will stay together for the rest of their lives, so they also represent a joyous wedding and a happy marriage. The first Origami Paper Crane was said to be made around 1590 A.D., therefore, people have been cherishing these beautiful paper creations for generations.
