A stained glass panel, shaped as a teardrop, featuring a vivid sun setting over a landscape river scene, created in opaque art glass. The river is formed from luminescent art glass, to give the impression of light on water. The landscape is represented in three different shades of green, the vivid orange sun fades to light amber and the horizon above the sun is a streaky blue and purple. Each panel is constructed using traditional leaded stained glass techniques. The lead came is cut and shaped to fit each piece of glass, then soldered in place, and the whole piece cemented to provide strength, then finally black-leaded and polished. The piece is unique, as I choose a different combination of glass each time i make a similar panel.
The panel measures 24cm high x 17cm wide approx. It looks lovely displayed on a windowsill, and because it is made from opaque glass, the colours will really pop if placed in front of a light coloured wall. It is supplied with a clear perspex display stand.
Note: The lead frame is perfectly safe to handle, as long as it is not ingested, but please wash hands after handling.
