I was born in Nuneaton and went to school there, and I have always had a strong attachment to the area, I have lots of memories from a young age and the views and landscapes and certain places and buildings are always a source of interest to me.
My linocut and woodcut prints are inspired by landscapes, building and scenery in my local area, Nuneaton and Bedworth and surrounding areas.
I find printmaking using methods like linocut, woodcut and sometimes etching my preferred way of expressing images, the graphic nature of this medium seems to lend itself to what I try to achieve in making the image.
Earlier bodies of work and study have included the graphic display of information and data, where my work became influenced by artists and writers such as Edward R Tufte, Graham Clarke, Joseph Cornell, Agnes Martin, John Constable, Sol LeWitt, Robert Venturi as a few examples.
