Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass.
Sometimes tiny gas bubbles, mineral crystals and rock debris are trapped within the lava as it cools, and these cause reflecting light to give a metallic sheen,
The colour of this sheen gives rise to 'gold-sheen', 'silver-sheen or 'rainbow' Obsidian.
Obsidian is thought to promote emotional balance and clarity of mind.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that exhibits 'labradorescence' - flashes of electric blue/green - in the light.
It was once believed that this flash was the Northern Lights captured in the stone.
This has lead to the belief that the stone has many mystical properties, and associations with intuition, self awareness and the awakening of the inner spirit.

Full description
Each drop earring features an 8mm Silver Sheen Obsidian bead topped with a 3mm laser cut sterling silver 'stardust', 2mm black Onyx and a trio of 3.5mm AAA grade faceted Labradorite beads.
The faceted Labradorite beads are a pale, translucent grey with a lovely sparkle and flashes of labradorescence that are very difficult to catch on camera.
The beads are threaded onto sterling silver pins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires.
Pretty, monochrome earrings that will match any outfit, making them an excellent choice as a birthday present, anniversary gift or as a treat for yourself.
Handcrafted in my home workshop in Devon, UK.
These earrings measure approximately 1 inch (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within the UK.
