I am a practical person at heart and while I really enjoy making decorative embroidery work I wanted to produce some more functional items. This is one of the first pieces I have made and I will be working up more ideas over the coming months.
My floral embroidery pieces are inspired by our Devon garden but the colours and textures come from my imagination as I stitch.

Full description
This pretty, versatile canister pot has a cardboard core, covered in a botanical cotton print swatch hand embroidered by me.
The rim is painted with acrylic paint and I have painted a hidden message inside ‘Where the wilful flowers grow’ .
The pot makes a perfect container for brushes, pencils, crochet hooks etc. and even a posy of artificial flowers. Perfect for keeping a work table tidy, or just as something pretty on a shelf.
