Hello and welcome to my shop.
I've always loved making things and worked as a Graphic Designer for over twenty years. Nowadays I experiment with paints, fabric, collage and clay and particularly enjoy combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, unique mixed media pieces.

Full description
This hand sewn fabric picture is from my ‘Birds & blooms’ collection and shows a colourful folk bird perching among the flowers.
I’ve painted the background fabric with layers of ochre and olive acrylic paint to give a vintage feel. Small sections of fabrics, including Indian embroidery, create a border and set the colour palette for the bird and flowers.
The artwork has been embellished with embroidery threads and seed beads and details from the border have been used to decorate the bird’s wing. Some small gold sequins add a bit of sparkle.
The picture comes in a good quality double mount. Outer measurements 9 x 7 inches. Visible area 6.5 x 4.5 inches.
