Agate is a form of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family, and gets its name from the River Achates, in Sicily, where it was first found.
It is one of the oldest known minerals, used by the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians for ornaments and amulets.
I love the banded patterns in these beads.
Each one has a different colouration and design, making this necklace truly unique.
Agate is the ancient birthstone for June and Gemini.

Full description
A centrepiece of five 8mm grey Banded Agate beads flanked by a trio of Austrian crystal bicones and tiny 2mm sterling silver spacers.
The Agate beads are a mix of grey shades, with cream, white and a hint of pink, with typical concentric rings.
The crystals are in the colour 'jet' and graduate from 5mm to 4mm and 3mm in size.
The necklace continues with 6mm brown Agate and another trio of crystals on each side, then graduates to 4mm Agate with a scattering of frosted black Onyx.
The necklace has an easy fastening Tibetan silver toggle clasp in the shape of a rose, which is nickel and lead free.
This stylish necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches (41.5cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
